REF.001

Effective date

This Privacy Policy is effective as of January 1, 2025, and applies to all users of the Deadline Radar iOS application. We update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, and legal requirements. Please review this policy regularly to stay informed about how we protect your data and your privacy rights.

REF.002

Who we are

Deadline Radar is developed and operated by a privacy-first development team committed to building tools that respect your data and autonomy. We are based in the United States and operate under core principles of minimal data collection and local-first processing. We do not require user accounts, subscriptions, or identity verification to use the app. Our mission is to provide a powerful deadline utility that works entirely on your device without any tracking, profiling, or building of centralized user databases. We believe privacy is a fundamental human right, not a feature to be negotiated or sold.

REF.003

Data we collect

Deadline Radar collects minimal data and stores it exclusively on your device. When you use the app, we create and store the following data entities locally: DeadlineRadarContentUnit (quiz questions, lesson content, practice card definitions, and educational materials), DeadlineRadarInteractionState (your interaction history within each tab, including quiz answers, lesson progress, and card review status), DeadlineRadarLocalRecord (your saved deadlines, risk scores, lead-time band assignments, and deadline metadata), and DeadlineRadarResultCard (results of your deadline assessments, quiz performance metrics, and scores). No information is transmitted to our servers, cloud services, or third parties without your explicit action such as manual export. We do not collect device identifiers, location data, or browsing history. Analytics and telemetry are disabled by default.

REF.004

How we use it

All data you create in Deadline Radar is used exclusively to deliver the app's core functionality: helping you turn deadlines into lead-time bands, preparation steps, risk scores, and next actions. Your DeadlineRadarContentUnit enables the learning modules and quiz content delivery. Your DeadlineRadarInteractionState powers personalized quiz feedback and lesson progression tracking. Your DeadlineRadarLocalRecord stores your deadline assessments for reference. Your DeadlineRadarResultCard displays your quiz scores and deadline evaluations. We never use your data for marketing, profiling, behavioral analysis, or selling to third parties. We do not train machine learning models on your personal data. Your usage patterns and deadline information remain completely private to your device. All data processing occurs on-device using local-only computation.

REF.005

Data handling commitment

We do not sell, use, or disclose user data to third parties for any purpose. Your deadline data, quiz responses, risk assessments, and interaction history remain your exclusive property and are never shared, licensed, or monetized. All data processing occurs on your device using local-only computation. We maintain this commitment by design: our infrastructure does not include cloud storage, user account systems, or remote analytics servers. If you choose to export your data manually, you control where and how it is shared. We will never implement automatic backup, cloud synchronization, or remote analytics features without your explicit informed consent presented clearly in the app interface with meaningful choice.

REF.006

Third-party processors

Deadline Radar uses the following third-party services to operate: Apple App Store (distribution and in-app payment processing), Apple CloudKit (optional encrypted backup only if you explicitly enable iCloud sync—disabled by default), and Sentry (optional crash reporting—disabled by default and activated only if you opt in through app settings). Apple App Store handles app delivery, receipt verification, and App Store operations. Apple CloudKit encrypts and stores your data on Apple's servers only if you voluntarily enable iCloud backup in iOS Settings. Sentry collects crash logs and error reports only if you enable error reporting through the app's settings menu. We confirm these third parties provide the same or equal protection for user data as outlined in this policy. You control whether each service is active through iOS system settings and in-app preferences.

REF.007

Retention schedule

All data stored by Deadline Radar remains on your device indefinitely until you delete it. DeadlineRadarContentUnit (lesson and quiz content) is retained for the lifetime of the app installation. DeadlineRadarLocalRecord (your saved deadlines and assessments) persists until you manually delete individual records or clear the app's local storage. DeadlineRadarInteractionState (quiz answers and interaction history) is retained until you clear app data or uninstall the app. DeadlineRadarResultCard (quiz results and scores) remains stored until you delete it. If you enable optional iCloud backup, Apple retains encrypted copies for 30 days after you disable sync. If you export data manually, retention is under your control. Upon app uninstallation, iOS automatically deletes all local data.

REF.008

International data transfers

Deadline Radar processes all data locally on your device within the United States. No data is transferred internationally by default. If you enable iCloud backup in iOS Settings, your data is encrypted and transferred to Apple data centers, which may be located internationally. Apple's infrastructure is certified under data protection frameworks including GDPR adequacy determinations. By enabling iCloud sync, you consent to this transfer. EU and UK residents' data transferred via iCloud is processed under Apple's data transfer agreements. You can disable iCloud backup anytime in iOS Settings to prevent international transfers. Crash reporting data sent to Sentry may be processed internationally according to Sentry's privacy practices.

REF.009

Your GDPR rights

If you are a resident of the European Union, United Kingdom, or any jurisdiction recognizing the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights: Right of Access—request a complete copy of all data we hold about you, including your DeadlineRadarLocalRecord, DeadlineRadarResultCard, and interaction logs. Right of Rectification—request correction of inaccurate data. Right of Erasure—request deletion of your data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app. Right of Data Portability—export your data in a portable, human-readable format for use with other services. Right of Restriction—request that we limit how we process your data by selectively disabling features. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@deadlineradar.net with details. We respond within 30 days.

REF.010

California privacy rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have specific rights: Right to Know—request and receive all personal data collected, including your deadlines, quiz responses, and interaction history; you can review this in the app's local storage. Right to Delete—request deletion of your personal data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app. Right to Correct—request correction of inaccurate data by editing or removing records within the app. Right to Opt-Out of Sale—we confirm we do not sell your data to anyone under any circumstances. Right to Non-Discrimination—you will not be denied service, charged higher prices, or receive lower quality service for exercising your privacy rights. We do not charge, discriminate, or retaliate. To submit a request, email privacy@deadlineradar.net. We respond within 45 days.

REF.011

Security and breach notification

Deadline Radar employs security best practices to protect your data: all data is stored using iOS's native encryption at rest. The app uses secure coding practices to prevent unauthorized access. We conduct regular security audits. If a security incident occurs affecting cloud-stored data (optional iCloud backup), we will notify affected users within 72 hours via email and in-app notification. Notification will include the incident nature, affected data, and recommended actions. For local-only data, security is managed by iOS's device protection. Enable additional security using device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. Regularly update iOS to receive security patches. Maintain device backups for data recovery.

REF.012
